Namibie - Lodges & Camps
    Canon Lodge
    Fish River Canon
    Luxury Stone Chalets

The Nama Karoo - yellow flowers of quiver trees against the blue sky at the second largest canyon on earth. The quiver tree is a typical stem succulent of the Nama Karoo and several clusters of them can be found on the vast plains of Gondwana Canon Park. With an area of 1,260 km² and the first piece of land acquired in 1995, this park is the largest and oldest nature reserve of the Gondwana Collection.

By now it is seen as "Little Etosha": nowhere else in southern Namibia are animals found in similar numbers and diversity: species which once used to roam the area are finally back again - like springbok, oryx antelope, hartebeest, blue wildebeest, ostrich, plains and mountain zebra, kudu and klipspringer.

Explore Gondwana Canon Park on a hiking trip, a horseback excursion or a scenic drive. And visit our Canyon Information Centre at the Cañon Roadhouse.

    Les Points Forts

    Canon Lodge
Canon Lodge in Gondwana Canon Park is just 20 km away from the Fish River Canyon. 25 natural stone chalets with air conditioning, en suite bathroom and thatched roofs, nestle between massive granite boulders and convey a sense of living in the lap of nature. Enjoy delicious meals at the restaurant and be transported to the pioneering days of farming by the carefully arranged decor. Read a book at leisure on the terrace shaded by trees or relax at the swimming pool with vistas beyond the Fish River Canyon.

    Canyon Mule Trekking
Take in the harsh beauty of the Fish River Canyon as close as can be, without lugging your heavy gear along... Mule Trails Namibia offers trekking tours (4 to 5 days) in the canyon area north of the main lookout point. Mules carry all luggage and equipment. Tour guides show and explain the area’s unique flora and fauna to you. In conversations around the evening campfire you will gain insight into the life of Namibia’s people. And savour the feeling of boundless freedom before you fall asleep in your tent or in the open under the star-studded night sky.
